Internship programmes

We do, from time to time, look for exceptional graduates to participate in our trainee analyst programme. Successful candidates can expect on-the-job training. You will work with experienced industry professionals and will be expected to contribute meaningfully to the Northstar team.

Candidates should have

  • Relevant Post-graduate degree or professional qualification (e.g. BCom (Hons), PGDA, BBusSc, B.Eng, MBA)
  • Relevant professional qualification (e.g. CFA, CA) would be an advantage
  • Excellent academic record required
  • Willingness to work long hours
  • Self-motivated, passionate, and curious
  • Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills
  • Ability to structure and lead research projects
  • Ability to work in a self-directed manner and have a natural curiosity about a wide range of industries and companies
  • Highly numerate and detail oriented, with the ability to work and communicate within our team driven environment
  • A sound technical foundation in valuation as well as strong Excel and PowerPoint skills are a prerequisite, whilst a working knowledge of Bloomberg will be advantageous
  • Strong communication skills

The trainee analyst programme is run for a period of 6 months. Permanent employment is not guaranteed thereafter, however exceptional candidates may be retained. Please email your CV and motivational letter to admin@northstar.co.za
